Ya know, I remember seeing Rosie Odonell being interviewed during some gun control march. She tried her fat sweatty bearclaw eating carpetmunching hand at being political and state there are over 1 Million guns out there and only 22 thousand gun laws. 22,000 ?? I bet there aren't 22,000 traffic laws. Yep, she states only police and military should have guns. Oh, she forgot to mention her personal security guards that carry them.

I think firearm training should start in the elementary schools. My oldest daughter turns 6 next month, and next spring I'm going to start working with her. I wonder how many terrorism problems we would have if it was known that the majority of Americans were trained carriers of firearms.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Oh, what a couple of pics! That sort of thing would get you put on a list somewhere in Secret Squirrel's HQ, prime candidate for a 6am visit from Mr Plod and 200 of his buddies if you were over here in the UK!

The mere mention of guns gets the powers-that-be pissing in their panties over here, legal gun ownership is pretty much an oxymoron, but guess what? Plenty of people are still getting shot, because the criminals haven't stopped getting hold of them, astoundingly enough! But it's not just drug dealers and bank robbers that have them, many kids get hold of re-activated weapons or get into trouble wielding replicas. Guns are seen as sexy or cool, as with all forbidden fruit.
And it's not just wannabe gangsters that love them, sane, sensible gentlemen like myself would love to try out some of that hardware! (I learned my gun safety with an air-rifle as a kid, and have held a shotgun licence since then, so guns aren't exactly a novelty for me)

If people weren't demonised for legitimate and sensible gun ownership, perhaps some kids wouldn't feel attracted to dodgy guns, and they wouldn't end up down the road to REAL crime.

But of course, Nanny knows best, so people like me will continue to be brainwashed into thinking photos like these here are incredible or shocking, rather than being normal pics of a Dad and his son doing Dad-and-son things and the lad learning the things that should keep him safe and well in future.

        Fair play to you mate!

EDIT: Just read the other thread for the first time, he he, oh dear, a real can of worms!!

Gun control = Great aim, keep it in the 10 ring!!!!
That looks about the age that I started. My father and I would go shooting all the time. Never hunted. Never had the stomach for killing things. But, I was a mean ass shot.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.

Crap... I had a whole thing typed out and now its gone. Wa.
                    Basically what I said was:

Kickass picks from V: love the ear protection! Excellent! Those are fun pics.

Keith: he's a sharpshooter and a marksman... I'm uber proud of him! He HATES guns though, but then, he wasn't exactly trained to use them for fun sport (target shooting) or say, deer hunting.
Neither one of us are entirely gun happy clappy, though I think I might like to be a chihuahua sniper.
I love paint ball and paint guns, pellet guns, water guns. You should see my paint gun outfit. Heh.
But yes, I think its a reeeeal good idea to know how to use them properly, and care for them, and understand safety measures if you're going to use them or be around them. Including educating your family.

You sound as much a Rosie fan as I am.

Perhaps we should lobby for a new law that says any politician or anti-gun activist that opposes our 2nd amendment would have to use unarmed security. Can you imagine Bill or Hillary Clinton traveling with unarmed Secret Service?
