  • new Christina Aguilera

One day I saw a new Christina Aguilera video on MTV, first thing I notcied, she is HOTTER than ever. I mean she is really really HOT right now!!!

The second thing I notcied that the tune was actually pretty good.
So I got her new album.
I admit, it really kicks ass. It's not a teen-pop album or anything like that. It's more like an old soul/jazz/blues/funk album with modern beats. And she sings really really well.

    Album cover:

    New video LINK

    mmm, classy....

btw. she wanted to do nude pics for magazines too, but her boyfriend said no, fuck him.

And she is a spinner as well. So it is all good. As far as the nude pics thats even more reason she should dump the a-hole.

I forgot to mention that "Back To Basics" is a 2CD album.

The first one is more pop-ish. Some jazz orchestration mixed with modern beats.

The second one is all old school. Big band stuff, big orchestration, horns, pianos, string section, guitars, drums etc. etc.
Great ballads and blues songs. The real deal.

Sleep. The sound doesn't collapse to riffs of early eyes either.

Yeah, I'm a shameless fan. She really caught my eye when I seen the video of 'the voice within'... voice of a songbird (7 octive range!) but the persona of an animal in the body of a beautiful woman.

I heard this remake of Labelle's 'Lady Marmalade' on the radio a few months ago, (which I recall hearing in the 70's as a disco tune) and I'm thinking to myself.."who is this? this isn't the original..it sounds a little like Mariah Carey but it's not".. then it dawned on me..Christina. I had a faint recollection that they did a video too.

I really used to dig the Andrew Sisters tightness in vocals in high school and the Swing to Big Band era...the twenties, the Burlesque era.. had a whole cool vibe in clothing. It was really a time when things were kinda bursting at the seams..prohibition, child labor laws, unions

She's really hitting it on the head..I would buy her new album.

Man she's only 25, she's got so much left in her to give musically.
We used to have female fronted acts in the clubs around here that borrowed on the whole Norma Jean thing in the 80's. I think she'll go with that theme for awhile and then switch out but she'll always be a killer talent.

She's an inspiration.. to take tidbits of what she does in vocal phrasing and do that on guitar would be cool IMO.

It doesn't really matter what style of music it is for me, if the musicianship, singing, songwriting and production is good and it also has a certain niche/unique thing then I will buy it.

I used to buy Scott Joplin, Benny Goodman & Bach on discount cassettes.. I'll spend my cash on higher buck classical cd if its really something I like and produced/done in a way that catches my ear .. I haven't bought any Christina, but I would be open to it.
