I must agree with dude. I was a huge Tyson fan back in the day, but watching him knock punks out 30 secs into the first round got boring. One of those guys was just some dude he got into a fight with on the street over a fucking jacket Mike had donated to a charity auction... The dude said the only way he wouldn't sue him is to give him a title fight. He did and dude got knocked the fuck out.
Fast forward to a real fight, Buster Douglas beat his ass with ease, then Holyfield beat Douglas. Tyson hasn't won a fight since I don't think, a real fight anyway... And Lennox Lewis knocked him the fuck out right here in Memphis!
Whataya Mean I Don't Support The System? I Go To Court When I Have To!
In MMA, the guys who only specialize in one style get taken apart pretty quickly by more well-rounded fighters.
You can't do the Gracie thing and be 100% grappling anymore - shoot boxers and muay thai guys have it figured out and just literally stomp your face - but you can't rely just on strikes, either, because sooner or later they always go to the ground and if you're gimp down there you're gonna wind up in an arm bar or choked out in under a minute.
From what I've watched on YouTube (hahaha), which is quite a bit during slow days at work, you gotta be a well-rounded figher or you're toast.
That's my 6' tall 150lb completely amature opinion. Wanna fight about it?!
Joe Louis would have knocked out Tyson easily. For starters he would be way too fast for Tyson, his jab would be too much for Tyson to handle, and his combinations would get by Tyson's so-called defense with ease. Kevin McBride knocked out Tyson. Danny Williams knocked out Tyson, James Douglas knocked out Tyson. All 3 are club fighters at best, with very little skill, and they all had Tyson on the canvas. Tyson's career here will be short lived, unless he gets to pay off someone. Jesse sure likes to tell of his loss to Tyson, and all the things he bought with the cash....................
I watch all the pride and UFC fights....Mike is no match for these guys.....its for publicity....I dont think Dana White (ufc pres) would ever sign him
Tyson was always hype. He was never going to be the greatest anything. He always fought soft opponents, and never faced the best of his blubberweight division. He is only considered great by casual boxing fans............
I have seen his early fights. He had alot of potential, but his handlers never put him in the ring with dangerous fighters. His record is filled with knock out victories over club and B level fighters.................
