  • UPS/ Insurence?

    Hey, I was in formed to day by UPS that they will nolonger inure musical Instruments aginst breakage unless you pay them to pack it? Is this new policy? I was infored that declared value only pays for lost shipments.

    It's true. However this isn't new. When I shipped a guitar last year, the only way they would cover it is if the guitar was packed by UPS with their materials (which came out to $40 for shipping, $20 for materials, and another $10 for labor).

        No... that's UPS covering their own ass.
        They're tired of paying for broken guitars due to shitty packaging.
        Granted, getting them to pay for anything is a whole other mess, but at least they can't deny the claim based on piss poor packaging.
