  • Local band suggestions and appreciation!

Revocation is a Boston area thrash/death band, and they're unbelievable. Our own magh8's band Goreality (who also kick a ton of ass) played with them last weekend, and my jaw was on the floor for their entire set. Plus David (guitarist) plays a USA Warrior from time to time.

    from their bio:

REVOCATION is a technical metal band that combines the power and aggression of the old-school thrash metal style with the twisted musicanship of technical death metal. The upcoming 'Summon the Spawn' demo, with artwork by Adam Geyer (FRIGHTMARE), will be a unique display of technical prowess and ferocious energy.

    Totally insane stuff.

REVOCATION's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates.

Minus Life http://www.minuslife.com is a Brisbane band that has just scored the opening slot for Nevermore here in November. Have supported some good bands in the past too - acts like Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Alchemist, Pegazus. They only have the one album out so far, but it get regular rotation here. Plus Kent, the bass player, works at my regular CD haunt. Cool guy.

I was just telling someone about their disc today. Everytime I listen to it, the vocals on the first track annoy the crap out of me (a bit -core-ish), but the guy mixes up his approach throughout the album, completely dropping any core affectations to either sing clean or death vox and by about halfway thru, I'm totally digging it. It's a shame they only have samples of two songs on their site.

Very nice guys, they practise 500 meters away from my house.
Pretty progressive metal, interesting riffs and clean parts.. Only thing I don't like are the vocals
"I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"

Not bad at all bro. I like your rhythm tone too.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

One of the best bands I've seen was the Michael Nitro Group in Scottsdale AZ. Bunch of old(er) guys jammin' everything from Elvis to Velvet revolver. I just happened to stumble into Lagerfields bar when I was in town for a business trip back in June.

Michael Nitro, Rock Band, Live Music, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Bad Company
                  Guitars:
'04 Jackson SL1 - Flametop Cabo Blue Trans Burst
'94 Charvel Predator - Fire Crackle
'77 Ibanez LP Custom Copy - Black
                  Amp:
                  VOX AD30VT
