Ah, suicide attempts.........yes they are BS.

    My son gave me the "I'm gonna kill myself" speil 6 years ago and here was my advice;

I told him " Yeah you can kill yourself, and yeah I'll pay for the casket and funeral. And all your relatives will be there for 3 days mourning over your dead body in the casket, then we'll bury you. And I'll have a picture of you sitting on my china closet and I'll remember the good times we had, but,.........next week I'll be going to Six Flags, and I'm gonna have fun, and the week after that, maybe I'll we'll have a party at one of my friends house or my house like I always do. So, if you think killing yourself is gonna stop me from living my life, or anyone else from living their life, well you'd be wrong. We will all continue on regardless if you're gone or not."

That may have seemed cruel to say, but it is a fact. And to this day, I never again heard him make a threat like that again. And if he did, I repeat it to him.

Wow, sad any way you look at it, but most people who want to commit suicide, do.

More often than not, a suicide attempt is a desperate cry for help. They want someone to know about it in advance, because (...deep down, perhaps even subconsciously...) they want someone to stop them. They don't actually want to die. They really just want someone to help them with whatever deep-seated issue is causing them so much pain that they think it may be better to end their life than continue on.

That said, from what we know about TO, I highly suspect his "suicide attempt" is more about wanting attention and media coverage than it is about him being in pain and wanting help. High order douchery, if you ask me.

My personal take on this is maybe, just maybe, he couldn't deal with all the TO bashing going on. He's been a model citizen since getting to Dallas and has done everything asked of him so far. However the media keeps on bashing the dude. This makes me think, and I can't help but think that maybe, just maybe, he was right in Philly and that the problem there was Andy Reid [a stubborn coach who thinks too highly of himself and has yet to win anything] and coaches pet Donovan McNabb who has yet to prove he can handle big game pressure. I say EVERYONE give the guy a break and let him do what he can do. He ain't in Philly or San Fran anymore, so drop it already!!!!! Talk about your own players like the injurred Stallworth in Philly and San Fran's own headcase Antonio Bryant.

GET WELL SOON and GET HELP T.O.! I for one am one Dallas fan in Philly territory who is pulling for you.
Speaking of retarded statements, this post is full of them. Bailing on practice even though multiple MRI's show no damage, riding a stationary bike on the sideline while wearing a Team Discovery Channel racing outfit...get real, the guy is a complete attention whore who brings trouble to himself. He has no concept of "team", its all about "TO". Hines Ward and Steve Smith both had the same issue as TO (although their injuries were confirmed by team doctors unlike TO's phantom hamstring) and neither of them were talked about to any great degree...because they are team guys and don't draw attention to themselves except with their on field performances.

Maybe he was right in Philly? Are you kidding me? He divided a locker room, held out one year into a contract that HE signed, started a fight with Hugh Douglas, told one of his coaches not to speak to him unless he was spoken to...need I go on? This guy is a cancer to the sport and deserves every bit of negative attention that he gets. Try going up to you boss today and telling him not to speak to you unless you speak to him first and see where it gets you. I blame the contract situation more on his agent but he still backed the play.

And to say Andy Reid hasn't accomplished anything? How many division championships has he won? And an NFC Championship? No small accomplishment. There are many great coaches that never won the big one. Is Bill Cowher a "better" coach now that he got his ring after 14 years as a head coach? I don't think so. And I am not an Eagles fan.

As for the suicide, it was another call for attention. He took 5 pain pills according to the report (and tried to take two more when there were people there to stop him). I know people who call that a good time, not a suicide
Suicide is not hard when you really want to do it. Having worked for the coroners office for several years, I've seen the difference between the people who wanted it and the people who wanted attention.

I don't wish any ill will toward the man and I hope he recovers from his obvious mental condition. He is a great talent who's antics outweigh his value to a pro football franchise.

              A. It was the reality of it. No matter what happens in life, time always moves on.

              B. Would I have felt guilty if something happened, probably, but, then again, see line "A."

I think my dad had a brass plaque posted up over my bedroom door that said that.

                    ****Update****

Gotta love the sensationalism of the media. This was not a suicide attempt. Watch the press conferences with the Police, the Dr's and his press agent and TO himself. I am glad he's gonna be ok.

I was just listening to it on local Sports station.

I really think the thing is, if it was anyone else, it would be like, well somebody screwed up, I hope he's ok.
Because of Owens' past it makes a lot of people's first reaction to be negative.
I'm sorry but he brought it on himself.

Rather than phycho analyze and try to point fingers at who is to blame for creating the obvious issues T.O. has, People should just realize that the guys is an asshole!! I don't give a rats ass if he did try to kill himself or if its just an example of the press going wacko, I said it once, i'll say it it again "Fuck Terrell Owens" You hire this guy, you get what you deserve, period, He will cause nothing but trouble anywhere he goes.
