Man, watching Court TV and what's going on in the joke of a courtroom with the brothers who owned the club. This is truly unbelievable. Whatever string of hope I had left in our justice system is now gone. I feel so bad for all the families/survivors, they are getting a total shaft job from the judge and DA.

Just not right, and no one with any power to change it cares...

The case of the 2 brothers that owned the night club in RI where a fire broke out at a Great White concert, killing over 100 people IIRC. They used some highly flammable foam for soundproofing which caused the building to go up almost immediately after some pyrotechnics were lit off on stage. The guy who lit the pyrotechnics got 4 years for involuntary manslaughter, doesn't look like much is going to happen to the brothers, which is completely fucked.

That's the problem with the plea. None of that information will be brought to not only the public but to the people involved. Not only the owners of the club, but the Town of West Warwick may have been proven to be liable, (or exonerated). Now it will be left to speculation, which will do nothing but cause more pain for those involved...

I heard it when the DA was aghast at the sentence. As if he wasn't part of the plea bargain. The judge read that political asswipe the riot act. The owners were negligent and stupid. Whether it resulted in one death or 100, they should have paid a higher price.

Unfortunately, almost all insulation is flammable. Even the pink kind. Heck, they spray ripped up newspaper and fiber into people's homes. They treat it first with a resin that retards fire, but newspaper with honey on it is still going to burn.

What kills me is (and i've been watching all day now), it's the victim's families that are muted in the courtroom. The judge shuts them up the minute they try to speak their mind.

How is it justice when you can't even say how you feel?

"They make arbitrary decisions based on their personal agendas or however they are feeling that day. Very few decisions involve the law or even common sense. They get appointed or elected based on popularity or usually who they know. The whole justice system is a huge fucking joke. I think some judges are bigger criminals than the people who stand in their court. That guy is right. I also think that judges should be accountable for some of the brainless decisions they make."

Total BS.....I live here and knew people that were in there....fortunately they got out but you never realise how many people are related to or close friends with the 100 people that did not make it out. That happened on my daughters first birthday. I will never ever forget it.......those guys should do hard time. They skimped on the insulation and in doing so used this foam that essentially caused the huge fire.
