  • my first performance

hey guys just figured i would post this because im super excited. well hers the run down: every year my high school has "spirit week" its uber gay and it ends with a pep rally on friday. during the pep rally the school band plays songs we play at football games and such (louie louie, soul man, land of a thousand dances, the hey song, etc) and this year since there is a lot of percussionists and about 4 bass players (including myself) i asked the band director if i could play guitar at the rally and he said he would love to have a guitar there. of course ill be playing my jackson RR3. anyways this will be my first time playing guitar in front of a large audience so any tips for this kind of thing? thanks guys

PS im typing this in a hurry because im about to leave for work, so please dont count any spelling mistakes against me

Relax and enjoy it! Make sure you know the set-list well, and that your equipment is going to make it through OK, and you have spare strings, cables, batteries and any tools you might need....

Just relax and remember that all those people don't have your balls. They envy you. This is an aside, but has anyone seen this Party Poker commercial? The first player reaches under the table and he puts two walnuts up. The second guy reaches under and puts up two 3 inch metal nuts. And then the lady reaches down and plops two big black bowling balls on the table. I thought that was funny.

It is normal to be nervous. My first time I puked like a drunken high school girl.

After that I realized that I could something those people couldn't do and they look up to you. 3/4 of them couldn't tell if you missed a beat or not. When you come down from that stage adrenaline and testosterone are running at all time highs. One of the best feelings ever.
One of the best things is that you get to pick which gril are you pinging that night. .

Go out there and rock your balls off!!

A solo would be cool. Don't let 'em know it's comin'. Just rip into it. How 'bout Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner?
