  • Went South of the Border !!!

    Ok, here's the deal ...

    I decided to see what's up with the Mexican Fender Strats ...

    Got a good deal on one, so I bought it.

    Cheap bridge, fretboard IS the neck, probably cheap pups ...

    I CAN'T PUT IT DOWN !!!!!

    This is alot of fun to play !!!

    Lots of sustain and GREAT TONE !!!!

    Excellent for the money !!!

        my mexi-strat is a VERY solid guitar!!!! here is a pic:



        i LOVE it and my mexi-tele!!!! they are wonderful gig guitars. mine has been customized....voodoo strat pickguard, left handed neck, duncan pick-ups (antiquity neck/middle, lil '59 bridge).

        GEAR:

        some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

        some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

        and finally....

        i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

            It's Green for sure, but I'm not sure which. This is nowhere near the Blue of my USA Double Fat Strat. Right Toe ?

                Actually, my mistake, I think it's Sage Green. The Agave I was thinking of is Agave Blue which they're both newer colors that I think came out around the same time. I'm pretty sure it's Sage Green. It's a little hard to tell in the pic. I think they might have discontinued or don't use the Teal on the Mexican ones, now that I think about it. Your USA Double Fat is Teal Green Metallic like mine (it does sometimes look blue
                in certain light).

                Here it looks more blue.


                Either way, any of Fender's shades of blue and green (light or dark) are the best colors for Strats, IMO!

                    Congrats.

                    I bought a MIM just like yours in 1998, metallic blue with maple FB. It's a great axe, but just doesn't light my flame. It's probably the vintage frets that turn me off the most.
