I'd be too afraid to attend a soccer game..those guys are nuts :ROTF:

mayday are you serious-lol You have to be kidding me. That's a funny one dude,
in '75 you made the series, should have won it, and in '78 I remember chris chambliss taking a dart in the arm from one of the sox fans when getting off the bus to enter Fenway. So we retaliated with smoke bombs, batteries, etc. You guys started it. I think the sox fans hate the Yankees more than the yankee fans hate the sox. I don't care who we're up against, I want to win and that's it. Sure I want to beat Boston more because there's a rivalry, but in the end I don't think the yankee fans gave a fuck as much about the sox as much as the sox fans hated the yankees. Either way, we have many spoiled young yankee fans who have never seen them not make the post season. And that is a sick thing . Not right, it makes them into whiners when they don't play well.

              Shawn,
I'm sorry to say this, but I'd say the Montreal Canadiens are the yankees of hockey, I can't stand them dude, but they have the cups to show for it.

I was speaking only in terms of recent cups and pre-cap NHL. Illitch had an open checkbook and you hear the same bs as you do about the yankees buying championships When you put a competitive team out there with legitmate shots of winning championships and you dont ...it hurts bad.

I'm a Lion fan and they are the only team from Detroit that I have yet to see win...I expect them to lose...they have a cheap ass owner who wont spend coin for a winner so it means nothing when they lose..its an expectation and a certainty that they do lose

I gotta agree with Tommy on fans reaction. Red Sox fan has almost taken this to a grudge. I like it though. :ROTF:

Though the Yanks and Red Sox have publicized a hate-hate relationship the last decade, its been with a lot of teams over the years. In the 70's it was KC. Chamblis beat them twice in dramatic fashion.

From the Yanks point of view, its whoever we go head to head against consistently. If Baltimore were to become a power house next year, or the BlueJays, you'll see the same thing.

Hell, this could start a Yankee-Detroit hate war.

By the way, Nuno sucks and I hope he gets teamed up with Ben Affleck to put out an album called Ben does Ben BoSox style. :ROTF: :ROTF:

Money doesn't make the plays on the field, nor does it keep the clubhouse cool. It just insures some big numbers and that's all. You can take the regular season and just toss it out the window it means nothing once it's over if you're in the playoffs. 3 out of 5 is lame, both should be 4 out of 7.

Ok for you NY fans.. What's your take on the ego theory and it being the demise of the team.. do you think it does the team damage?

Absolutely Kevin, and not just NY teams (see T.O.), but regarding our team, we have people that have to go. Sheffield being one. Not A-Rod, because, you know he's a ggod player. He's needs tolearn how to cope in NY.

I just wrote Tommy a 45 minute PM that got erased on what I think should happen to our team. Sorry Tommy. I tried saving it, and copy it in case something happened, cause I knew it was long, but my right click doesn't give me the option to save, so I lost it all.

                          But Kevin, 'does the ego do team damage', W I T H O U T A D O U B T !!

If everyone can be like Ortiz to your team, and like Jeter to our team, it would be ok.

At least the Red Wings and Pistons are good at what they do most years ...and oh yeah...GO TIGERS!!!!!! I'm happy..even if we lose it all tomorrow..damn what a year!!

ego theory = my theory of uneasyness in the clubhouse. As far as fans go, even though we've taken it pretty much without vaseline the last 3-4 years,
I know I have always loved the yankees, never changed when the mets took over the city in '72 and '86, I sat there and watched us play well, and poorly. We won 97 games one year and didn't make the playoffs. the '85 yankees were "gangsta"-lol Any way, I always had the same amount of hate for every other team no matter who it was, and yes I had an ego because i grew up in the 70's , then gagged in the 80's and early '90's. and then in '94 we had the best record in baseball and the strike hit, that sucked, and from '95 on we've been in the post season, and from 96 through 8 innings of 2001. there was no team even close. thus the ego.
