  • What Software for Slowing Down

Friend of mine is a beginner and learning some BB King stuff and wants to slow it down.

I can't remember what software is out there for that. I know there are some decent free programs around.

Window Media Player 10 does a decent job down to 1/2 speed & maintains the pitch pretty well. The Amazing Slow Downer is supposed to work really well & has many more options, but it's shareware:

Hadn't heard of BestPractice. Looks good! here's a link:

                Wait, BB King shreds?

Perhaps he should work with a few Pentatonic scales and a metronome before jumping into learning someone else's stuff? Once you get familiar with the scales, and can do runs at a comfortable speed, picking out solos is easy. Black Sabbath and early Priest were no longer dark mysteries to me once I learned a couple of Pentatonic scales.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Thanks for the input! Maybe I just need to invest some $ for a good program.

Can you even slow B.B. King stuff down?

                      just use guitar pro
If the crowd is shouting for an encore, but the sound guy is shaking his head, ignore him and play anyway
