tigers need to win one game in st. looey, and it's back home, preferably tonite, and not forced to tomorrow. if they win tonite, it could spell doom for the cards. momentum is only as good as todays pitcher and teams attitude.

shit, really? i just saw it was on rain delay. that blows. fuckin hell, how kickass was carpenter last night? some great locating, for sure. i was surprised that he eventually got his breaking ball back after the thumb cramps. he was staying away from it for a while. a stellar, stellar performance.

....too bad they'll lose the series!

There is now a sign in the Tigers dugout that reads:

"All employees must wash their hands prior to taking the field"

Okay, I have a stupid baseball question (I'm relatively new to this, but have really enjoyed this post season). During interleague play, how do they decide on whether they use a DH or not? Or does each team do it's own thing, one uses one doesn't. Doesn't seem fair to the NL team to have to bat their pitcher if the AL team doesn't.

And just for the record, the AL may be better/more fun to watch, but pitchers should bat anyway. They're getting a TON of money to play ball. I guaranty I don't get paid as much as they do or have as much fun at work. Get off your ass and hit the batting cage fer christ sakes, or we'll send you to the minors. just mho

interleague play is like the world series, in the AL parks the DH is on, and in NL parks the dh is sadly lost to a guy who has a hell of an arm , but has the batting eye of a, say, Marv Throneberry. Granted if you pitch and hit, you're likely to see a lot less beanballs, chin music, high cheese, whatever you want to call it, but I'd rather see a triple, then a strikeout anyday. DH rules.
