  • Any Dragonlord fans?

If you like symphonic/black/thrash/death metal, then Dragonlord is for you! For those that don't know, Dragonlord is the side project of guitar player Eric Peterson of Testament. Eric plays guitar as well as sings. I got their first album, Rapture, in 2001 when it came out, it's pretty good. I finally got their second album, Black Wings of Destiny, that came out last year. Holy crap, this one is even better than the first! Eric even does some clean vocal parts and sounds very good mixed in with his typical black and death metal vocal style. A cool cover of Mercyful Fate's "Black Funeral" is included, as well as Thin Lizzy's "Emerald" with very melodic and cool harmony guitars, great vocals and awesome trade-off guitar solos between Peterson and Steve Smyth.

I've seen them live twice and own both albums. First one is pretty good, second one wasn't that good I thought.

First time I saw them live they were great, second time they were pretty bad. I am interested in seeing if Dragonlord will go on the backburner again as it did after the first release since Eric Peterson was doing a ton of stuff with Testament.

Yeah. Mustaine's been running that idea around for a while now. He originally wanted Gigantour in the US to have that (+ Overkill) but he couldn't get approval. Europe? No problem.
