  • Shipping to Canada

Guys, I'm looking to buy an amp and get it shipped from the USA into Canada - does anyone know how much import taxes would be, and how I'd need to pay them?

Import tax will be the rate of provincial tax charged whever you are picking it up. Here, in Nova Scotia, it's 14% of the insured value plus brokerage fees charged by the carrier.

Tax rates vary by province but it shouldn't be any higher than 14%

USPS doesnt charge brokerage fee's. It is all I will use, and ive done TOO many deals with folks in the states.

If it's a private sale and you want to take a slight chance, only insure it for half it's value and you save! Just avoid defex and UPS and you wont pay STUPID brokerage fee's!

Also, do a search, this topic has come up numerous times!

Thanks guys! Would I just have to pay the courier when they deliver?

Ian, you can pay the courier when it arrives or prepay the fees with a credit card, if it's being shipped by UPS or DHL.
