I'm impressed with you guys... all the idiots my age here think about is getting falling down drunk every chance they get, which I think is pretty fucking stupid.

Well granted I guess most of you aren't my age, so you've probably had some time to think about it... Oh well, good job anyway!

It seems that i drink way to often and I veiw it as a problem. I don't drink for anyother reason but to drink. I also have an addiction to the energy drink rockstar. Ok maybe addiction is the wrong word I have this habbit of buying 1 or 2 everyday. Gosh my weak mind wont let me quit!

I think the last time I had a beer was at winter NAMM in Jan. 2005.

Stick with beer. I know I drink a lot. And, yes the buzz is great and I like it. Stay away from the hard stuff. I have for 40 years. If I ever started drinking hard stuff there would be no tomorrow. Just ask my mother. But you can't, cus she's dead at 55. The amazing thing with my addictive personality is I have never had any interest in drugs. Pot, maybe 20 times in 40 years. But, never anything else. I'm just old school, I guess.

Yeah, but I'm 56 and still have a clear mind and a sound body as long as I have my beer. 100,000 beers and I'm still here.

Yeah no kidding, Hell I did the math the other day, I've been drinking beer since I was a teenager but lets figure 20 as a good starting point, average 2.5 beers a day @ a buck each. times 365, times 28 years, equals the best spent 25.550 bucks I ever spent, seems like it should be more:ROTF:

Here's what worse. When I started drinking beer, a six pack was like $1.49. I just figured out that I have spent over $50,000 on beer. I should have gone to the Mormon side of the family.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

Only problem with that, you would have given the church at least twice that by now

At the least I hope you don't drink and drive; I learned my lesson on that one. I have never since and will never again get drunk and drive.
My idiot younger brother (he'll be 31 in a couple weeks), got his first DUI a few years ago. He lost his license for 6 months and had to go to some meetings. You'd think he would've learned, huh? Well, last year he got his second DUI, won't have a license for 3 years, and he did 3 months in jail (even after checking into an in-patient program for a month). He lost his job, but luckily now he's got a much better job... he just has to commute from NJ to Brooklyn, NY everyday; first the train, then the bus. He thought it was cool to commute at first, not so much any more. And he has to do community service every other Saturday for like the next 5 years or so. He still says that he doesn't have a drinking problem because he can go all week without a beer, but he still drinks quite a bit on the weekend.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

Don't go there. I may kid around and I do drink. I got my DUI in "91. Total cost $5,000. Only 5 hours in the slammer. These guys are getting real tough on D and D. Gone are the days when they just tell you to go home. And, I think, that's a good thing.

I'll tell ya, Joe, the thing that made the deepest impression on me was the alcohol awareness school. But it wasn't the regular program shit, or them making us watch movies about alcohol ruining people's lives.

What impressed me was seeing people who had so many DUIs they were facing 5 years in the state pen, but their attitude was "Fuck you, I have the RIGHT to drink and drive!". They acted like they were being fucking patriots by getting drunk and endangering everyone else out there.

THAT fucked-up outlook scared me more than anything the counselors threw at us! I was not going to be the fucker who killed someone, or did 5 years in San Quentin because I couldn't get the point.

I hope your bro gets it Joe; he would probably do some serious time if he got a 3rd DUI. They are getting very serious about that shit in most states and the 3rd one becomes a felony. I wish him good luck, and the sense to know when to quit.
                              Ron is the MAN!!!!
