However, "trophy" killing is something I don't care for. Take a picture, it'll last longer.[/quote]

I took a picture, the bear was just more cooperative after I killed it!

Seriously though, my family and I eat all of the hoofed animals and birds that I kill. Predators don't taste very good. If it has sharp teeth and claws, I don't eat it. The only true trophy animal I've killed that wasn't processed for consumption was the Grizzly. Alot of people make sausage and jerky out of them, but bears are a little too greasy for me.

The only other animals I kill and don't eat are the foxes and coyotes on our farm, and they are a major nuisance. When they start eating catfood off the back porch, it's time to tighten the noose.

So yes, I killed the bear for sport. It was by far the most physically and mentally challenging 10 days of my life and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. To each his own.....

More like they eat the cats off the backporch, foxes are protected here and don't pose much of a problem, coyotes are a different thing, mini 14 ranch rifle time, I've never lost any cattle to coyotes, mine have big friggin horns, but we've had some nice barn cats disappear, and that's pretty upsetting to me, I really loathe coyotes, , other than that everything else is strictly for consumption, lots of deer and turkeys on the farm

A crow would laugh at you if you hit it with that piece of junk. Step up to a Gamo Shadow Hunter at least.

To circle of tyrants: Yeah, I don't like bear meat either. It's too greasy and salty. That's why I don't hunt bear, I'd hate to kill something just because I wanted a rug (which I totally want). That being said, it'd be cool to hunt something that can kill YOU so easily.

When I was in Jr. High and High School, our math teacher raised sheep. He used to pay us $10 for a set of coyote ears. We got so good at it, he had to lower his price to $5 a set

NM big game hunting sucks right now. Deer and elk are lottery system and I have the worst luck. I've been skunked the last two years and haven't drawn for $hit.

Went hunting with a friend this morning. He got this piebald doe...very rare around here. It was a cool hunt for sure. He had a local tax. offer to do a full body mount on it in exchange for display rights at the local Deer & Turkey Expo.
