hate to rain on the parade, but this is only happening because DLR did not succeed in the radio talk show market and now needs cash again, as does EVH.
I saw em on the 1984 tour fortunately, and I'd prefer to live with that memory thank you.
but I agree that Sammy was a mistake and DLR was the shit, back then. now he's just a washed up motor mouth with nothing interesting to say.
and Eddie, well, you can BET that his kid will be on bass, so there you go. that's not Van Halen in my book, and it's just another way to fuck a former member out of the $$.the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

Huge fan of the classic VH era, and understandbly so, nothing like to this day truly master pieces one after another through out the classic era.
Aside from that, I'm not sure if I want to see the classic era reunion concert.
I have mixed thoughts about in all honesty. It might be just too painfull to see. I may wish to remember them (concerts) when they were young and energetic, putting on a good top notch show. It would be difficult at best stomaching them jumper and romping around on stage struggling to get into
it. Then again, it will be a very rare historical ocassion for this line up and just to be a part of that I may attend one. But I may just want to let the better memories of them as younger rockers remain untarnished and let this reunion slide by too. Not sure if Dave could engerectically and enthusastically lead and command the stage like he could years ago.
It could be awkward and potentially uncomfortable for to me to see him to try do so and lack. May better to remember them all in their prime younger days.
Honestly, what I'd would like more than anything is a complete album of all new high powered, top notch, in your face VH tunes we all know this line up is very capable of doing. Gimmie that, and let the radio station have a VH festival all over again. Then, let a tour follow in support of the new stuff and the classic reunion lineup.Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.
Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I think the discord btwn Eddie and MA started when MA wanted to tour and E didn't and then MA went out with Sammy as the other half last year? sometime around then I think.
as for new EVH sig guitars named after his son (who smokes MA on bass you know ), who the fuk knows?the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

The way DLR has sounded when I've seen him around lately... I can't see this as being particularly good...
The concept is very cool. The reality is probably not so cool.
I saw them live on their first real tour opening for Black Sabbath... I'd guess 1978? Ahhh... Those were the hungry days... They were pretty damn good.

Agreed.
Heres some videos of Dave...decide for yourself.
Its mostly his voice, imo its just not there.
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Ugh... Yeah, that's what I was talkin bout...
Man, some really bad moments there... Time has not been kind to him... Or Eddie for that matter...
Seeing him sing like that and Eddie looking like the homeless dude we've seen lately is just a bit much of a low blow for the great memories I have of these boys in their prime. Man, when they were hot, they were hot. Those dudes "were" something amazing. Now, it would just be a freak show.
I know many of you are just huge on them (I certainly was, I assure you there) and are dying to see the reformation. But, the reality is a bit sad I'm thinking.
