Would that still require a generator? I have an inverter simmilar to this one: http://www.4lots.com/index.asp?PageA...ROD&ProdID=110 in my van. if a generator is needed, what kind do I need?
    Thanks again.
You can't cheat physics, man. 18 Guage wire is thinner than 10 Guage wire, therefore, you can't run as much current through it. Run 45 Amps (approximate draw of 1000 5W bulbs) through that, and you'll melt the insulation right off of it. Things get even more grim once that happens.

Those long spools are meant to be subdivided into smaller strings.

You need a 10 Kilowatt Generator, and 9-10 circuits IF you're running 10 guage wire.

That power inverter is only rated at 1200W. Don't forget the lights are going to pull 10,000 Watts.

Go to Home Depot and get a spool of household wire and 2000 standard lightbulbs and sockets?

Look in the phonebook - surely there's someone in your area that can do that kinda thing? Who does the local 4th Of July fireworks displays? Maybe they can do light shows?
