  • Saw Onslaught last nite!!

Don't know if u remeber these guys - legendary UK thrashers out promoting their new album with pretty much the original lineup bar 1 guitarist, Nige rockett still on guitars, Sy Keeler on vocals \m/ plus, charvel jackson porn.....

and here's the set list...see if ya can work 'em out

the new guy was playing a rhoads and the dk with the sustaniac pickup by the looks of it, Nige seemed to be playing a model 3dr with a custom paintjob and a model 3 HSS i think didn't seem to have individual toogle switches or 3 knobs for the vol, tone, midboost...wierdly nige didn't play any solos which is odd considering all the stuff from power from hell is entirely him, the new guy did all the lead...

Cool - did they play anything from In Search of Sanity?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Was Sy the original vocalist? I can't remember. I have Power from Hell and In Search of Sanity on vinyl. I preferred the original singer to Fatso, uh, I mean Steve Grimmet.

Sy was the vocalist on The Force, which is allegedly the definitive onslaught album, hence most of the members being from that period, so i guess i should have said the definative rather than original lineup. Sy wasn't the vocalist on power from hell or in search of sanity, and as u can see from the set list they didn't play anything from that album...destroyer, burn, and killing peace are from their forthcoming album killing peace which is out sometime in the near future \m/

they were playing at birmingham barfly...real small audience as well - i couldn't even count 50 people ther but onslaught played there asses off and i was literally slap bang in front of sy not even 2 metres from him - it was a very intimate gig i guess would be the word

Oops, actually, I have The Force, not Power From Hell. Brainfart!
