  • Why Lie?

So I'm on my way home a little while ago and I see what appears to be this homeless dude standing on the side of the highway exit. Not unusual really, so I didn't pay much attention to it, but something caught my eye.

He was holding a sign he made from cardboard and black marker that read,

"WHY LIE? I NEED A BEER!"

I got such a kick out this nutty fucker I was going to go get him some beer and then just before the light changed not one, but 2 people handed this old dude some beer.

        thats funny..

I don't like just handing out cash as I do not want them to get crack or support an alcoholic. So, I usually drive to McD's or wherever I can get a couple cheap sandwiches and drop that off. Problem is.. those guys don't stay in the same location for long.
I've gone and bought food, came back round within 15 minutes and they've move on. I guess they got enough to meet their daily quota.

I've heard every heart wrenching story known to man from panhandlers....as with anything....honesty is the best policy.

My parents used to tell me that if you speak only the truth...then there's only one story remember If you lie and people know it..you lose creditability even if you are telling the truth

They did an expose news story on these guys a year or two ago around here. The news guys were filming the panhandlers and when people brought them food, they throw it down the rain gutter. In the high traffic areas, and with the number of people throwing out a few bucks here and there, these guys were actually pulling down a decent "salary." He was pulling in around $20 an hour. Some of the drivers were screaming at the news guys to "pick on someone else", etc etc. Of course, not every panhandler is a scam.

They followed one of them home to his apartment, then followed him all the way to Shreveport from Dallas and filmed him going into the casinos.

Man if I could figure out a way to bring these guys together, manage their schedules, provide transportation to and from the high traffic areas. All for a percentage of course. I could make a fortune as a bum pimp!

I seen 8 guys working together in Phoenix. 4 guys would work in shifts and the other 4 would sit in a van, bullshit. I dont have sympathy for these guys.

I was on my way to a pot luck dinner with a pot full of chili.

Dude shakes his cup and says,

"Spare change so I can get a meal?"
"How about I give you a cup full of chili?"
                      "No thanks, man..."
"I thought you said you were hungry?"

It's better to give money to charities that service the homeless (shelters, soup kitchens, etc.) than to the panhandlers themselves, because every dollar they get will keep them on the streets that much longer.

fuck the euphemistic sensitive term "homeless," these guys are BUMS.

anything you give them is just throwing good money or food down the rat hole.

no one should give bums anything except a hard kick in the ass. and maybe a knock on the fucken head with an axe handle for being such lazy douchebags.

i have my own financial problems. whatever i might give to some so-called beggar (or bum as it's known in usa) could be the difference between life and death. so i don't. i get rather pissed off when people ask me for cigarettes or money, and these aren't homeless - they're low life scum who just stay on government benefits and think the world owes them a living. makes me sick how i pay 15% of my wages in "national insurance contributions" and these assholes don't even so much as lift a finger to earn it.
