Hmmm, let's see here. I recently saw a video at work regarding streamlining production methods and guess who made an appearance?
Apple. The guy was touting the fact that because of their production improvements, they could build 3 times as many a day as they had been previously.

And they STILL cost how much? :ROTF:

And where's the "build-it-yourself" stuff for Macs like there is for PC? Steve's got a death grip on the hardware so it cannot be sold to anyone but him?
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Newer macs run on Intel x86 now. And with Apple bootcamp you can dual boot windows and osx on a mac. If Apple is serious about competing on a serious level then they're going to have to let go of the hardware. This may have been the first step.

While I would prefer you all to run Windows PCs, a Mac is a good second choice. We sell the most popular Mac software too
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

People seem to forget the most important thing about Apple.
They are a hardware company first... they also write software.
They will NEVER let go fo the hardware aspect of their business nor will they ever open it up like they did in the mid 90's.
That almost killed them as a company.
Intel Macs also have a propriatary bios. Yea you can hack OS X to get it to run on other hardware, but it's not worth the effort to re-hack it after every update.

They would run their business to the ground if they did that. Most of their profits that they need to continue as a business is from hardware.
