  • MySpace used Eminent Domain?? Took Over Our Account.

MySpace took over our account to promote this crap. Take a look.

natalie lock's profile including the latest music, albums, songs, music videos and more updates.

Needless to say I am pretty pissed about it. We are not sure what direction to take here. This was our band's site but no longer. I haven't had the time to read through thier agreement to see if thet can just do it on a whim. Charge them rent ??

Are those your friends on their list? If so, i would write them all have have them express their opinion on the takeover on the new site.

        Here it is.

MySpace.com reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, refuse to post or remove any posting (including private messages) by you, or to restrict, suspend, or terminate your access to all or any part of the MySpace Services at any time, for any or no reason, with or without prior notice, and without liability.
They done yaked our shit in a hostile takeover.

Yer screwed and unfortunately there is nothing you can do. Their terms of use are crazy and most are not fully read by most users. There was a recent article about Billy Bragg not using the service because the terms of use basically stated that ownership of the music posted on Myspace became their property(see link).

so the movie already has it's on MySpace page, but they co-opt yours to advertise an event associated with the movie? What a load!

Myspace is owned by a major corporation, NBC, I think or one of the gazillion dollar entertainment companies that owns NBC. So when they have a movie to promote with that name they'll just bulldoze right over their users.

Pretty lame on their end considering they could have very easily used lockdownmovie or some variation of that to promote their stuff instead of being bogus like that.

I agree with Tim. Should never have high expectations for anything "free". having said that, I think it sucks but their an ad driven business and I'm willing to bet you paid nothing and lockdown did pay.

Sorry Matt if you wanted a legitmate site to pimp your band you should register you domain and pay for a real service.

Myspace is internet for 12-16 yr olds and is slow as chit. myspace is frustrating, slow & buggy, I only use it to check up on my kids
