  • OMG.........that sukked!!!!

Now, I normally like remakes of songs, just because it gives it a different taste, but coming home from work, I listened to a song that sukked soooooooooooo bad.

It was 'Turn the Page' by Metallica. Do you think they could've possibily stacked any more (shit) effects, distortion and bad vocals on top of a normally quiet song.

This is equivalent to taking a song like 'Dust In the Wind' by Kansas, playing it in Drop D tuning, thru an octave pedal, delay pedal, flanger, metal zone pedal, wah wah pedal, run it thru a Leslie cabinet. Throw a little distorted accordian for just a 'little' more effect.

Hetfield sounds like a cross between Yoko Ono and Phil Anselamo on that song.

    Sorry. That was horrible

I know, its a horrible song. Kinda sad how Metallica has gone a totally different direction. To me they havent matured in their music.

I hated that version of the song.
Bob should have nut kicked James for singing so badly.

The only remake I could think that would be worse is Jewel's rendition of Crazy Train. :ROTF:

Shinedown did Simple Man, and it was horrendous. Really fucking horrible.

That is actually about the only decent thing they have done since the black album, and they didn't write it.

Agreed. I heard the Bob Seeger version and thought it was a bit too weak and had no emotional impact, and Metallica's version had what was missing.

I guess it depends on which one you hear first.

I thought Metallicas version was ok. I have a friend that doesn't even like Old Metallica and he LOVES their version of Turn the Page....

Zeeg, Simple Man has always been my favorite Skynard song and I think Shinedown did an AMAZING job on it. I like it better than the original!

I liked Metallicas version of TTP better than Segers' myself. Just a matter of preference I suppose.

I guess its personal preference. I just thought that song was aborted so bad, no one would like it.

Come to think of it. I'd rather listen to that song, than any song by U2.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:
