It would be nice to get Sori back. No where to put him though....DH?
Yes, pitching is the name of the game and we need help in the bullpen.
I really don't think Petitte or Roger will leave Texas. Slight chance on Petitte, but I don't think any chance on Roger. (unless his son plays elsewhere).
I don't see Roger going anywhere either. I'd rather see the Yankees try to get someone like Zito than wasting time on a guy who left them in free agency, and a guy who retired on them, then un-retired.

Wow this post has some miss fucking information if I have ever seen it.
1st Matsuzaka can never become a Yankee this season unless Boston signs him and trades him to the Yankees. Chances of that.....slim to fucking none.
2nd the 51 million dollars has ZERO affect on the overall salary for the players next season. It is money to negotiate a deal and negotiate a deal only. If there is no deal Matsuzaka goes back to Japan to sign with someone over there for 3.5 million max. And the Sox pay NOTHING. If he becomes a Sox player his annual salary and only his annual salary is added to the total of all players salaries. The 51 million has not one damn thing to do with the salary. And more than likely the Sox can expect to make at least 15 million dollars a season on merchandise sales and the sales of the rights to view the games over in Japan per season. So if he is signed to a 4 year deal who comes out on top of that "way to much" negotiation fee? That would be the Red Sox.
3rd If he is signed he will still make less than Barry Zito. Who will go to Mets this year anyhow at around 15 to 17 million. Sorry you can say Zito is a great pitcher. But the reality is he has been hit or miss. Certainly not worth 15-17 million playing for any one of the American league teams.
I realize that talking Yankees baseball usually means a lot of bullshit being spewed about the place. But please lets try and get the facts fucking straight before the lips get a flappin'.We must!
We must!

Now Mr. Solo, what have I said that is not on target. I did say if the sox don't sign him, he goes to the next highest bidder, which happens to be back japan, which I left out. I realize that talking Red Sox Baseball usually means a lot of anger spewing forth about the Yankees, but I'm seriously glad the yankees didn't over pay for the chance to negotiate with someone who might turn out to be a bust. If i'm betting on it, he looks like he has good stuff, but what are the networks going to show? wild pitches , or homeruns that he's given up? fukk no, it's only going to be swing and a miss or a batter frozen by a curve, etc. I really want Soriano back, it makes no sense for the Yankees to sign him, but if he is going to keep up this 40-40 ritual every year, then let's figure something out and get him back. He led in assists for Outfielders in the National League if I'm not mistaken, not too shabby for his 1st year in left. He's a natural athlete, and if he's not going to be a yankee, which is the case, make sure he stays somewhere in the national league. No Angels, White Sox, or Red Sox I pray. He'd hit 50 homeruns in Phoneway Park if he played the whole season and did not get hurt for a long amount of time. He could be the first 50-50 guy in the history of the game if he was a red Sox player. Not helping the situation since 1965!

The right-hander has a 108-60 career record with a 2.95 ERA and 1,355 strikeouts in 204 games.
He was 17-5 with a 2.13 ERA and 200 strikeouts for the Lions this year. He throws in the high-90s mph, has good off-speed pitches and is known for his deceptive "gyroball.
Those numbers tell it all. As the other top players that have come from Japan I doubt they would consider it unless they beleived he would be competetive at this level. He is also only 26 years old. Same age as Papelbon so he has some good years in him.

Matsuzaka compiled his record against Japanese teams..... Could be a whole different story against Major League batting, and most likely will be. I think we learned our lesson with Hideki Irabu.
Anyone could pitch for the Toledo Mudhens.:ROTF:Occupation: Department Director for the Department of Redundancy Department

That's the worst case scenario for Matsuzaka. It isn't like any of these teams haven't wasted money on players before. The Yankees have Carl Pavano the Red Sox Matt Clement.
Nothing wrong with smack talk. But lets at least get the facts straight before throwing them around out there. We must!

Clement didn't have that good of a year, but definitely has the potential to be a #1. Hell, we had Jeff Weaver. A bust. Now look at him in St Louis.
