that is a normal jackson pro series rr5 that angus plays. he did modify the pickguard so the neck volum isnt there any more and he took the v string plate off of it.
Last year, that was the case. However this year he is sporting a customized RR1T. It only has a rear-loaded master volume and a master tone. He had them remove the V tailpiece and it's snow white with vintage pinstripes. He absolutely loves it. (talked to him on Thanksgiving)
With the RR5, Angus wanted it to look like Randy's original V. However, with the makeup of the RR5 that wasn't entirely possible. Due to some issues with the custom shop last year he ended up with the RR5 instead. (he started off playing a SL2H in 2000 and then he had a custom Charvel made for 2001 - Paul O'Neil actually mandates that a Jackson or Charvel be played on stage - an homage to Criss Oliva) He then had his tech, Ed, put a white pickguard on it and move some of the controls. Angus is mostly a Strat player, he likes the pickup switch to be above the volume knob, hence the move of controls.
Just got back from the Chicago gig...holy s***! Awesome show...just can't say enough good things about it. Alex Skolnick and Chris Caffery were awesome...the whole band was awesome! Drum solo, keyboard battle, flames, lasers, snow, ripping guitars. Go see it!
Skolnick mostly played his Les Pauls, but did whip out a double-neck white SG for one song. Caffery played a Les Paul as well, but had two different Rhoads out there for some songs, one of which was made of Korina.
Going to see TSO on Dec. 30th with my 8-year old daughter (our third time seeing them).
I was wondering if they have changed their show at all. The last two years they did the "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" album in its entirety. I am hoping this year they play "The Lost Christmas Eve" in its entirety instead, which I think is a much better album overall (heresy, some may say...).
So what was their set like?

Good Lord! The rod up that man's butt must have a rod up its butt!

They first half of the set was the Christmas Eve and Other Stories album; the second half they did a varied set with some songs from Lost Christmas Eve and other albums. They also did Layla which was kind of cool...and I could've swore that Alex and Chris were trading licks over a Savatage song (no vocals obviously) but couldn't tell which song. The show was about 2.5 hours long.

Hmm. Sounds the same as the other two years then. Which is OK, but my daughter tends to get a little bored during the "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" part of the set. She much prefers the second half, which rocks a bit harder.
Thanks for the reply.
