Hehe... Well, big bird sorta helped get me into reading as a child. I love to read now, but it don't mean I still think he's cool...

That said, the solo was pathetic... I know 8 yr olds that smoke him... hehe.

I have every CD right up to and including "Unmasked". I kind of lost interest in the 80's. But when they put the makeup back on and did Psycho Circus I found the interest again.

I was a huge KISS fan in the 70's. I still am really for the old stuff.

that actually was the video that though me tapping, before that there were no video's available in Europe which clearly showed you how to do this, so yes Paul ain't Yngwie but I'm still happy he did that "solo"

Best concert I ever went to, to this day !!!!

They were HUGE back then. Talk about inspriring !!!!

Btw, I didn't even watch that solo clip outta respect for Paul Stanley.

I'd hope there were more who'd do the same.

I don't understand what's the big deal? It wasn't THAT bad, just some random noodleing by an awsome lead singer, rhythm player and showman.

Comments like "My problem is that he got paid that night." are retarded. KISS gives you what you pay for. They try to give an amazing performance and show every friggin night. He gets paid because he is doing his job right and is 100% into it.

I have that video in my collection and remeber how cool it was looking at him playing that way. This was before I started playing myself so that tapping looked insane for a little rock-kid
I´ve never really been a fan, but Kiss is all about show and fun and they´re a big part of Rock´n´Roll history, no matter what.

1st off I didn't tell you to stfu

2nd you misquoted me in a sense. My point was Paul has ALWAYS admitted to not being a lead guitarist. Would you rip a rythmn guitarist in YOUR own band because he didn't play lead?

That whole thing was for asthetics for the crowd, christ only 5 % of the crowd probably had any clue as to even what he was doing technically ..

The clip is from the Animalize concert that was on MTV back in the day.

I think Paul knew it wasn't the greatest. Take a look at the expression on his face when he's finishing up the tapping. Pretty sucky solo, but hey..... he's a rhythm player after all!

Scott Ian has to be the quintessential rhythm only metal player. That guy can't play a solo to save his life.

Ehh, if you say you know you're not a lead player, then don't get up and make a point of doing "look at me" lead guitar solo that is embarrassing.

Yeah, Kiss played a big part of sparking my interest "as a child' in the guitar area. But, I knew pretty quickly thery weren't serious musicians and moved on.

They are like the WWF of rock. Just a show. But, they knew how to write a few hooks and made a LOT of dough and somehow, got a LOT chicks. Guess that is the main idea anyways, so kudos to them.

Plenty of "great" players play to no one. I see Yngwie playing to 400-600 people at shows here these days and Kiss still plays to thousands wherever they play... Gotta hand it to them I spose.

I saw them with Priest in 1979 as well. My mom drove me and a friend. She sat in the back row. After the show, she was interviewed by the Dayton Daily News. It was cool, we had our names in the paper.

We were right down by the stage for a while, then we decided to move back into some seats. A few weeks later at the same coliseum was when all those people got crushed at "The Who" concert.
