I used to wrap my tennis racket in aluminum foil and use magic marker to put the goodies on. Mine was fully loaded.............

Art like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Not everybody is gonna share/have the same view.
What I think sucks or looks nasty someone else may really dig.

      Ex...
However, Kiss the band was a huge influence in many peoples lives and none of them are the same caliber of musician as Vai, even so, I like them both and listen to both oftenly.
I have some older kiss concert boots that I really dig and its a no contest, I'd much prefer any day to watch a Kiss boot than a Vai boot and still know Vai is the better musician has no bearing at all. Its all a big mix gang, without the mix it would be very sterile and boring.
Kiss was never entirely about the song, although they definitely have many good tunes, they are more about attitude. The undenying attitude came across very strong in the earlier tunes.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Kiss are awesome. That solo is from the Animalize tour, and has been available on video since after it was taped in 84. I would say Paul played a "solo" spot because Bruce Kulick was in the show and was not yet a full time member. Bruce got a solo spot on the Asylum tour and no more solos for Paul.

Paul isn't that bad a soloist when he gives it a go. He did the solo for Sure Know Something, which is typical Kiss, tasty and memorable. He did a bit of solo work on Psycho Circus too, I Pledge Allegiance is a song that comes to mind, that's Paul.

As for that "solo". The tapping part was impressive enough to me as a kid before I began playing guitar, and it was something I was able to emulate easily when I did start playing. Looks impressive to other beginners, lol.

Just wonder if Paul was killing time with this solo spot as he seems very distracted throughout the whole thing. Maybe they were taking care of a technical difficulty, maybe one of the band members had to take a dump, etc.

I could play a solo better than that. What was with that random tapping?:ROTF:

Double Platinum.... my first album ever. Got my grandmother to buy it for me.

I think if I was Paul I'd play that solo too... just so I could watch all the "serious" guitarists in the audience gnash their teeth and shake their heads and grumble about arpeggios and what not. Then I'd say to myself "I wrote Detroit Rock City suckah!!! And thanks for buying the ticket & t-shirt by the way." Then I'd play the solo some more. I might even misfret a note or two on purpose.

Hell, I'll pinch one off on stage, pretend I'm a monkey and throw it into the audience! Oh, wait, didn't G.G. Allin do that?!?
