Thanks. Lamb of God I can take (vocalist reminds me of Phil Anselmo somehow) but Killswitch Engage I don't like.. But that's a matter of taste again.
What about Slipknot then? Killswitch Engage has been at it for about as long as them haven't they? I always wrote off Slipknot and KE as nu-metal, both of them.. Maybe I was wrong? Do they fall into the New Wave Of American Metal now?

KsE are considered metalcore, and are part of the New Wave, along with bands like God Forbid, Shadows Fall, LOG, etc. Not that any of these bands are brand new, but they are part of the new resurgence in American metal.
Slipknot is still gnu-metal, although the guitarists are much better than the floggers in most bands of that ilk. They pre-date the new wave. I still can't stand them.
Thanks for the link Racer, I was aware of most of them except maybe "atmospheric metal"?
Didn't say anything about the NWOAHM tho.. Anyway this is the genre where Lamb of God, Shadows Fall etc falls into from what I've been told here..
There's so many mixtures of styles going on today.. Bands which previousely sounded extremely nu-metal suddenly throw in a little screamo/hardcore and it's something completely different altogether.. Hard to keep track!

Well I guess I'm the only one who thinks it sucked. Too much black metal and satanism thing in there so I don't like it... I wouldn't put that "satan" scene there either.. Dio and that guy on the same doc. as metal musicians... That sucks!
I've seen it on VH1C a couple times, it's good. As far as NWOAM, I like Shadows Fall but I bought KsE's "End of the Heartache" last year and it sucks. I can't stand cookie-monster vocals and unfortunately, that kills it for me with a lot of modern metal bands. There's nothing more annoying than hearing some great riffing and musicianship from a newer band that you've heard/read about, then the vocals come in.....

I know, I hate cookie monster vocals to. I like Thrash metal vocals better.
I don't like Black Metal at all. All those Scandanavian and Finnish Black Metal dudes are a bunch of ignorant viking idiots.

Hmm... Then what about the Scandinavian "idiots" who like both Black, Death AND thrash metal? One of my best friends can often be seen listening to Mayhem or Darkthrone one moment, and the next moment he'll be listening to Poison's "Every Rose Has It's Thorn".. He doesn't take the "attitude" of the Black Metal guys to serious but he finds something in the music which he enjoys. I don't mind listening to Black Metal myself, even though you probably won't find any Black Metal albums in my collection, except perhaps Venom's "Black Metal". I've got lots of Death Metal tho.

funny, when I was in Norway (in many different places) I didn't see ANY black metalists, zero. Actually the people seemed to be very happy and very polite. I did see A LOT of biker dudes though, riding with Harleys and listnening to Nazareth, Sabbath etc.
