Waitasec, did you just call POISON "Thrash Metal"???

I think he meant that his friend can listen to all the heavy shit and the next moment some 80's glam stuff wich is about chicks and parties.
That being said, I don't really understand why pople generally think that scandinavians only listen to some evil cookie monster bullshit. As I said I didn't see any metalheads in Norway. Norway has been one of the leading jazz countries lateley, in modern jazz (nu/acid/fusion/trip-hop etc.) they are absolutley on top of the game. Sweden is still a huge pop country. Finland is the place where rock'n'roll is HUGE.....but evil metal is still unerground."There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

I just rented this movie off netflix. it was interesting, especially his categorizations/history/family tree thing.
but I agree there was too much emphasis on black metal and all those extreme genres in which people seem much more interested in being more evil than the next guy, rather than in being good musicians making music.
that Gaahl guy was hilarious. I wonder if he knows how people laugh at his moronic false-serious schtick?
super important historic metal that was missing from the film:
Michael Schenker/UFO
Scorpions
Yngwie Malmsteen
Megadeththe guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives
