I like them, but I never paid that much attention to them. They always kinda reminded me of Ministry, though, who I always loved.

Thats what I picked up on as well, not much of a variety.
I'm not necessairly refferring to their signature sound. They have imo excellent distortion, very tight and clean and not sloppy and I love their powerful attitude that comes across. Mainly its the song writing. They all sound like the same song just with alittle different twist to it here and there. After you hear about 3-4 songs they start sounding the same it becomes hard to distinquish an evident difference from one to the next.

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

They are definitely tight. Can't remember which song on the DVD, but at the end the tempo slows down to where there's a good amount of space between chords and both guitarists stay totally locked together. I need to watch that part again....I can't remember if the drumming was still playing at that point or not to give them a reference.

I mainly just enjoyed it as a whole and didn't overanalyze, but it seems that both guitarists pretty much play the exact same parts aside from an occasional minor lead from Richard?

By overdubs, I meant did they tweak the guitar tone to make it sound better for the DVD? I know they did that with the Arch Enemy DVD.

                  Thread resurrection.

I didn't think Live Aus Berlin could be topped, but I just recently bought the Volkerball Special Edition DVD and the Limes, France show is actually better than Live Aus Berlin. I bet I've watched/listened to that DVD 15 times in the last couple weeks. Those guys know how to put on a show! Sounds very good too (DTS track).

I saw them twice on the UK leg of the last Reise, Reise tour they did, Birmingham and Cardiff. I must say they were fucking tight. One of the best gigs I've ever been to. Sound was spot on and everything was on fire. The Birmingham one was better as I was completely off my tits and hopping around in the pit. Close enough to feel the flames!

They do put on one hell of a show, flamethrowers, cooking the keyboard player, flaming arrows etc. One thing that made me laugh when they did Mein Teil, where the singer cooks (flamethrowers) the keyboard player in a great big pot was that he couldn't get our of the pot for a while as the rim was too hot for him to grip so he could haul himself out. But if you like flames is has to be Feuer Frei! If I'd had a marshmallow I think I could have cooked it from the heat!

There's supposed to be a new album this year, I hope to god they tour to support it as I'll be going to as many dates as I can. There's nothing like shouty Germans!
Fwopping, you know you want to!

I went to the Manchester show too. Coolest thing was when they all stopped, like statues, at the same time...it messed with my idea of reality...

I would direct all conclusion-jumpers to eclectic, lesser known Rammstein works such as Stirb Nicht Vor Mir

They are a band where I like nearly *every* song they have ever done....can't say that for many bands.

I saw them in Omaha in 1998 when Du Hast was just starting to get big. They were on the Korn Family Values tour. I didn't know jack about them except that song. Thought the song was cool. But didn't know what to expect...

Anyone who has seen the FV 98 DVD will know what I'm talking about. There is a part where the singer takes the keyboard player and pretends to have "sex" with him. The singer has this huge rubber cock that he pulls out of his pants, all hooked up to some kind of pump, then on cue it starts spurting milky water all over the place. Drenching the singer, keyboard player, and just about everybody on stage. At one point, it was shooting out to about the 10th row. The guitarists were drinking out of it. It was the funniest thing I think I'd seen onstage in a long time. I was up on my feet and laughing and whatnot and I looked around and everyone was just slackjawed, staring at the stage. They didn't know what hit them. But they didn't like it, you could see that. I thought it was great...
