The first is Psycroptic, the second is Spawn of Possession. Check them out... if you like try the albums. I'd suggest having both bands in your CD library. I own several from both.

Death bands...also check out Centinex, Black Dahlia Murder, Amoral, Arsis (DEFINITELY check these guys out!...BRUTAL!), Dying Fetus, Neuraxis, Denounce His Name...
Centinex is alright, Dying Fetus/Misery Index are both really good. Black Dahlia and Blood Red Thone are also worthy bands to get... I'll have to check out those others that you mention...

At least check out the two songs I uploaded.

I'm listening to Corporation 187 right now. I forgotten how much I like them.

I still haven't checked out Black Dahlia. A friend asked me if I was going to see them play a couple of weekends ago, but I hadn't planned to. Don't know where I'd got the idea, but I thought they were some metalcore band. She tells me the concert was brutal. They had Psycroptic & Pathogen opening for them

Yeah, I was surprised they hadn't been mentioned sooner.

Also, how about Martyr? I'm listening to their new CD right now. Definite tech-ige.

                    Nope...strictly death metal Gary.
It's that whole "Johnny Come Lately" stigma that gives some of these really good death bands a bad rap.

I'm really into Immolation, Cryptopsy, Suffocation, Psycroptic, Spawn of Possession, and most of the stuff that has been mentioned, but I'm looking for more brutal/technical.
                      Hey Xeno,
if you don't already know them, check out Neuraxis... Canadian Deathmetal, if I remember correctly they're going in the direction of Cryptopsy. I may be mistaken, but it's worth a shot.
Also, PM our very own Shadowcat for his band Devastator.. most excellent brutal, technical deathmetal

I think I'm looking more along the lines of Immolation/Goreguts, Psycroptic, Spawn of Possession, Origin... New Ion Dissonance is pretty good, but a bit too grindcore-ish. Guess I'm still getting used to it.. I also don't mind the Death/Black stuff like Annal Nathrakh, Zyklon, Crionics, etc... as long as it's relatively technical guitar oriented.

I stopped checking out new metal for probably the last two years, so I'm not familiar with a lot of the newer stuff that might be out there now.

Oh, and if you want to check out some definitely mind-blowing time signatures, listen to some Psycroptic. If you want absolute technical, try some Spawn of Possession.
The newest Disgorge(CA) album Parallels Of Infinite Torture is THE most brutal album I have ever heard. Hands down. Also check out Beneath the Massacre, Gorgasm, Sleep Terror, anything on Unique Leader records, just about anyone in my MySpace friends list.

And a note on Abysmal Dawn, I've known those guys for YEARS. I've known their guitar player Jamie since he was 14. I actually have a side project with their drummer Terry, who is dating my ex-girlfriend's best friend, who lives across the street from me, etc...

I've had Neuraxis - Truth Beyond downloaded since 2003, though never found the album for sale locally, otherwise I would have bought it.

Shadowcat? Send me links!!! (or a cd haha :p)

I'll have to look for that, I have several CDs from both Disgorge bands and haven't seen that one yet. Already love Gorgasm, Sleep Terror (look out for a band called Mincery, same guitarist as Sleep Terror)... Yes, anything on Unique Leader is generally good.

That's the name of the song, it's off the album titled Cabinet.

Also check out the band Disincarnate that James Murphy formed in the early '90s. They only put out one album, Dreams of the Carrion Kind, and it's awesome! Of course it's awesome, it's from James Murphy.
