Layne was on tons of dope, the whole band was, but playing a show in a wheelchair sounds kinda badass to me.
Not helping the situation since 1965!

I saw them when they first came out... they opened for the Clash of the Titans Tour at Madison Square Garden (Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth) in '91. I think Layne was also in a wheelchair then, or on crutches or something.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I just need to say...I'm not raging on James because I'm not fond of his vocals or something. He is simply waaaay off pitch, very often and that is not unusual for him. Nothing to do with his "style". He has very poor vocal control for a "singer".

I don't think he has ever nailed "Nothing Else Matters" at least nothing caught on tape that I've seen.

Phil was in key of a level to that of a professional singer...And I like listening to my old Metallica more than Phil. His vocals fit the song quite well.

That beard and buzzcut just scream... oh i dunno, "ridiculously past his prime and should retire with the whole band following suit"?

Jerry should just sing the whole thing.

Yeah that's easy to say until you hit 40 but still don't want to quit playing music - because it's your life. James is not a great singer, but I think it's fucking cool that he's still out there doing his thing.

Cantrell is a kick ass vocalist, he and William totally nailed every AIC tune when I saw them in KC a couple weeks ago.

That wasn't so bad, not so good but not so bad either. Much better than a bootleg I watched a few days ago of the same song. I hesitated watching this because I thought it would be the same clip. James was muy terrible in that one!

                  That´s a great song.
I never saw AIC live so I don´t know how Layne did it live, but I think both Anselmo and Hetfield did OK.
It´s not about nailing it perfectly when they do that guest-singer thing, it´s about the happening, it´s cool that they do it.
Giving the audience something extra. I don´t think they have a less great time in the audience because the singing isn´t like what it was on the record.

Yeah, except I was thinking it moreso says "I'm trying to look absolutely as ghey as possible."

Seriously, the people around him NEED to give him the scoop on how that looks.
