  • Ethanol good for some farmers,,

This just cost me about 1500 bucks when I sold my last bunch of calves, I got about 15 to 20 cents less per pound than I did before the corn futures were announced, The local feed stores can't even get any corn right now for winter feed, Rumors are that Exxon Mobile is bidding the corn futures even higher, thus taking the profit out for ethanol production. We can't grow corn worth a damn here or I'd plow the place under tomorrow.

and another thing, you guys will be paying more for beef in the stores

Yeah, all those sweet little babies I raise, get a truck trip to Greeley, talk about a shock to the system, especially in the winter

I like eating the babies. So sweet and tender. No A1 sauce needed here folks!

Should have been here yesterday. Got to a balmy 20 degrees! A guy goes outside for a smoke and it takes 30 minutes to warm the hands up before playing again.

Well, I'm sure everyone's looking at planting corn now, even with the backwardation in futures prices. Look at it this way - as crappy this year is for feed prices, corn with be dirt cheap next year given the cyclical nature of commodities. That means a Soloist in your stocking as an early Xmas present!

                Glad I don't eat beef!

Maybe try soybeans? It's a better fuel anyway.

Soybeans do create more gas then corn.
