Dragonforce - supporting Firewind

Ok, unfair thread title. Saw Dragonforce at Southampton Guildhall last night. I knew there was a support, but thought it was only All That Remains. I'd got tickets, but booked them for collection at the box office. The queue for entry to the Guildhall was enormous - except for the box office queue, which was just me. Bonus! First up was Firewind (Gus G the guitarist) - I think most people missed them as they were still being searched for their plastic Dragonforce swords at the entrance. The sound levels were spot on, considering the appalling acoustics in the Guildhall, & Gus was awesome. Playing a (soon to be Signature model, I think) ESP. Great band. All That Remains & Dragonforce suffered from the acoustics as the volume went up. I'm sure they rocked, but it was difficult (and a bit painful) to hear. Herman looked on form & everybody took the piss out of Sam. But I bought the Firewind CD - check 'em out on Youtube.

Firewind are very good. Which reminds me - need to throw Allegiance on the xmas cd wishlist my wife has asked me to provide. I don't have that one yet
