  • How bored are you?

I use a big vintage lava lamp as my nightlight to the livingroom. The goop was so old that it wouldn't lava. The 40watt bulb just wouldn't do it. More Power. So, I buy a 60watt bulb. Do you think it would just screw in? NOOOOOOOO!!! I had to take the thing apart and lube the socket. It took two hours to get it to work right. It hasn't blown up yet and it's working like it should. I really need to get a life. This turned into a major project.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: But, it sure is purdy.

Is it designed for a 60watt bulb? If you find out it's not, please post pictures of the damage

Jackson should include that orange Lava as a Custom Graphic.

Honestly, check it out if you haven't already.

Did you put in the 60W bulb? And if so, do the "bubbles" move any faster?

Here's the deal. When lava lamps were new they only had 40watt appliance bulbs. With the advent of ceiling fans with the light option, they made a 60watt small bulb. We had a guy up here that was killed because he put a lava bottle on the stove to heat it up. Well, the sucker blew up and sent a shard of glass into his heart and it killed him. Yes, I did put the 60watt in and, so far, it works like a champ. It's erupting like it should. I am watching it very closely. But not too close.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

Killed by a lava lamp?! Dayum. I'd rather be killed by Death.

How close are the other trailers?.... I'm just firely interested in knowing

                  I`m pretty much bored...
but, one guy on the guitar mag(german) forum was
so bored he started to count how many times is the
lighther string winded around the thicker string (of course a guitar string)...
He fucked it up at the 300 or so wind..

Not the old ones. The glass is very thick. The oil acts as a coolant. The base is aluminum and absorbs a lot of heat. Gotta go now!!!! My trailer is on fire.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:

I find it funny you need a nightlight. :ROTF:

Just get one of these for your living room! I got one from Walmart last year. Though, mine's got purple water with red lava.

Speaking of bored. We just settled into our rental house for the next 4-5 months while our new house is being finished. Basically, we are living an old split foyer half of which is being used as storage for our stuff. And it literally just went from a nice 75 degrees to the mid 40s in one f'ing day! So, I hate winter to begin with and now the four of us are stuck in this small shit box for the next few months and most of my gear is in storage. I just hope I can make through winter without taking an axe to a door and saying here's Mikey! I'm starting to twitch already.
