before i go off on one, slate the shop who fucked up my guitar, and wind up prosecuted, i'll give you the story. then you decide whether i should have this rant moved to the feedback section..
i decided to have my warrior set up. after 14 months, the action was too high, the trem was leaning forward and the strings were never changed (the first guitar i owned without ever breaking a string). the turbocharger pot needed a little tweaking, but that's all. the only cosmetic damage was a tiny chip (1st coat only) on the lower fin's corner and light buckle rash on the back.
i come to pick it up and the TC knob is scraping the body, the signal is only output when you push the cable jack at an angle, and the upper side of the body now has tons of surface scratches. i'm now told it'll cost 20 quid to replace the output socket. my guitar was NOT like this before i took it in and i told them that. as far as i see it, i trusted them, and they've killed my baby. I've yet to see the end of this horror story.
i did not buy the guitar from them. i only got them to do the set up cuz the actual shop that sold it to me took 10 days to set up my other guitar. the receipt clearly states: full setup, lower action/intonation, super's 9's, push pot, service electrics, new battery. in the warranty box it says 'no'... but wtf does it say 'we can cause damage and charge you to have it corrected and scratch the fuck out of it without retribution'? nowhere, that's where. surely retailers owe a 'duty of care' by law to prevent assholes killing our prized possessions? and should i have to spend my xmas bonus because these baboons screwed my guitar, do i have the right to expose them in the feedback section of this forum?
