Well, this just cuts it. The Seahawks-Niners game is this thursday night. Guess what fukking channel? Oh, the NFL Network that you have to go to a premium package to get.
In the Seattle area, the game should be on your FOX affiliate (assuming no blackout because of not selling out - is the game in Seattle or SF?). At least for this season. I'm not sure what is planned for the following seasons in terms of over-the-air broadcasting of NFL Network games.

It's here (Seattle) and always sold out. I hope you are right. I may have jumped the gun.
I don't know who your buddy is, but I have comcast digital silver package w/HBO (need my Sopranos) NFL Network comes with it (and also basic digital) the games are NOT blacked out, and also if it's a local team it is on local FREE TV as well. NFL network is also a FREE channel with the Comcast HDTV service as well. I know not every Comcast market has it, but I know here they sent out a survey with people's bills and everyone voted to get it....like 85% of their customers. I watch it more than any other channel. NFL Network Replay is awesome. They cut out all the downtime and add clips of the coaches/players postgame interviews when they're speaking of a particular play. By the way, there was no upcharge when it was added to our basic/premium packages.
Well my buddy has been interviewed by local sports radio and it was the hot topic for about 2 weeks around here on all the sports talk shows. NONE of our local cable carriers ( there are 3 of them )carry the games on NFL network and some don't/won't carry the channel at all becuase of the extreme cost for teh games. Maybe your local cable has enough subscriber to defray the cost. For one time out local cable companies did the right thing and didn't screw the customers with an overpriced product.
