  • Question about eBay

Let's say there is an item X and let's say the starting bid is $10 and Buy It Now price is $120. And let's say I want to have it 100% but I try to get it as cheap as possible. I'll make a bid for $30 and to be sure that I win I'll bid for let's say $70 and $100. And $120 wich is the Buy It Now price.

Somone pids over $30, then I have the change to get it for $70, someone pids over $70, then the highest pid is my $100 yadda yadda yadda.
But when somone presses the Buy It Now button, then what happens? Do I still win as I made the highest bid for $120?

    Thanks!

As long as the BIN button is displayed, the rule is he who hits the BIN button first wins.
If your $120 bid was your limit, but not your actual bid, you will loose the bid to someone that hits the BIN button.

Yep, and that would mean there has to be a reserve on the auction because if there is no reserve and say a $30 starting bid with a $120 Buy It Now, once someone bids the first $30, the Buy It Now will Disappear.

Buy it now only goes away only when the reserve is met. If the reserve is not met and there are bids place under the reserve, the buy it now button stays

My advice.... In a situation like this, If it's an item you really want, don't lose it over a couple bucks or a couple hundred bucks-whatever the case may be.

I agree. It has happened too many times to remember them all.
