  • Vwall Guitars website

    Hey fellow shredders~
    Hope everyone is fine!

As many of you know, my site has vanished for a while now.
(tho I'm still here and operating)

My DNS was hi-jacked and I need a little help.
I want to know if anyone has the skills to help me get this resolved and help build the new website..
Please let me know if you can help and pricing.
    [email protected]

    Thanks everyone!!!

    Scott

do you mean someone bought your domain name out from under you? I don't think there is much you can do about that. Someone willl correct me if I'm wrong.

Did someone get into your dns provider account and point your domain at something else?

Also looks to me that http://www.ipowerweb.com/ might be using it by mistake? www.vwallguitars.com resolves to 72.22.69.199 which seems to also have the name host513.ipowerweb.com. Scott, do you have a way to do conference calls? Like call these paople and then conference me in? I would be willing to talk to them for you. Also, is this who you have it registered through? Have you paid the bill this year? If you dont pay your bill they black hole you even though you still have rights to the domain.

If Network Solutions is accepting normal email for automatic configuration changes, a forged email, requesting a forced change of zone configuration, could be the way it was hijacked. But I doubt it - I think that today, most automated systems are not accepting normal emails.

As quakana already said: Resolving vwallguitars.com gives the IP address 72.22.69.199. Browsing that address and you get to something called vDeck:

                      Welcome to vDeck

This is the default page for a vDeck hosting server. If you were expecting to see your website, come back tomorrow. If you still see this message then, send an email to support.

I use Ipower and that message comes up when you have just set up an account. Check back in a day or two and see if it's changed. Seems wierd. Vdeck is their control panel for users to edit build their sites.

I hope you get back up running again soon Scott. Let me know if you need any help building your site. I'd be more than happy to help.

Scott, odds are your domain was registered under Network Solutions. If they were also the ones to host your site then you can get it all solved with one phone call too them.

wow, this is great! Alot of info for me to chew on.
here's the history of my domain. it was 1st registered at with freeservers way before I was music shop. just a little hobby page to buy and sell used gear.
They also hosted my site up until this year.
I found out they wee a little rinky dink server in the basement kinda place. So I signed on with Ipower web.

2 years ago, I re registered my domain with something I got in the mail from registrar.com I think.
                            I believe I paid for a 5 year domain.
then a few months ago. my site just vanished like a fart in the wind....
I tried to no avail to get info from the freeservers that hosted me.
then I contacted I power to change everything over.
told them I needed help and they said it was registered to onlineNIC.
I tried to contact them for weeks thru IM listed on their site and email.
tock over a month to get an answer. they referred me back to ipower and said they now manage my dns. Ipower said they do not manage it.

After several emails to ipower, they kept telling me that it was resolved and would be up in 48 hours. this has now a few weeks of this triangle....
So that's where im at on this...
                            stumped and confused.
All the info and help here is been enlightening and greatly appreciated.

Dave, I can do conference calls so I would be thankful for your help on this.

Ipower should have created a record in thier DNS table for you. I did a trace route and it looks like they did.
