You don't need 4WD. I commuted to Black Hawk for 3 years in a Trans Am without a problem. I even drove my Pantera once just to prove it could be done. Almost forgot, after I sold the T/A I was driving a Fiero, not a problem.
Hang in their guy's. Yea, the 4WD definitely helps. I used to live in Utah, Wisconsin and Vermont. I was watching this on the Weather Channel. They said the airport is closed till tomorrow night at the earliest. That's a United hub and you can imagine what is going to do to the Holiday travelers this year

With 1 1/2 feet of snow on an unplowed road, those cars wouldn't move, whereas with a 4wd, it's playtime.

Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong.
:ROTF: Yeah, and get out of Mexas:ROTF: I just noticed you changed it. I have new neighbors in my nice upscale neighborhood. The house next to me was foreclosed (a former Enron employee). Now I have 3 La Familia's living next door. Maybe, I can get some discount on landscaping, because there are at least 3 lawn trailers in the driveway
I used to like living up north except for the salt and you know from living in Michigan!

That sucks about the neighbors, isnt it supposed to be a single family dwelling? No HOA rules?
Yeah, I love the 4 season and dont mind the snow but all the salt eats away at your car

Thats true. When I lived in Michigan my friend had a 67 4wd jeep wagoneer. That thing was a tank..when we'd get a lot of snow we'd drive around with a chain pulling all that cars that were stuck...for a fee of course. We could not get that beast stuck and believe me we tried. We'd go to parking lots where the plowed and left the 8-10 ft piles of snow, get a good head of steam going and just slam right through em

Yeah, we do have HOA and it's supposed to a single family dwelling, but a lot of these folks get away with it, by moving cars around etc. My other neighbors have contacted the HOA and they could do nothing. You almost have to set up a "sting operation" then prove it isn't some type of family reunion or party. You would have to document the vehicle traffic and the amount of people going in and out of the house on a daily basis to get a concenus. It just sucks!

Yeah those Jeep Wagoneer's are killer. We had one pull out a '53 Willy's and a Dodge Ramcharger and Power Wagon out of a canyon in Utah. That thing was a tank just like you said. It was a '73 or '74 model. Just awesome.

Managed to close the airforce academy where I live the past 2 days also. I spent 4 hours shoveling out because im one of those lucky "mission essential" people who was dumb enough to live on base. My wife is on her 17th hour as we speak at work. At any rate thats we we get for asking uncle sam where to live. The words cluster fuck seem to fit this state. I lived in upstate ny and they would have had this shit cleared over night. Someone in this state needs to get their head outta their ass and order some plows and plan for these storms. According to Colorado Springs officials they had only planned for like 1 "big" storm before the New Year. SOmething tells me that when we see the shit mocing up from NM that maybe they should enact a plan and take some notice. Oh and to make it all better the mother fuckin plow came through like 10 minutes after i stopped shoveling. (God hates me)
P.s. saw the plow guy doin this as he saw me sitting on my tailgate tired as shit
Haters gonna hate
Dilluting the brand one MUTT at a time.
Although Stuka is 99% right, you'd be surprised what I can do with a car fellas. I have done it many many times, the big issue is getting it initially rolling. If you have shitty tires you're screwed. Plus CO. doesn't frequently get THAT much snow. How often does a heavy snow like this come around once in 5 years? 10? Last big snow storm CO had was 2001 IIRC probably had about 30 to 35 inches in my front yard. Lost my shed and some trees. At my parents place in Black Hawk that storm dropped enough snow to reach the bottom couple inches of their windows. Maybe about 50 to 55 inches
Usually it's 3, 5, 7 inches, then DOT does their shit ass job of plowing because they cross their fingers and hope for a sunny day to follow.
