Kung-fu monks at rock/metal shows drive me nuts. It's not good friendly violent fun, those idiots just start boxing everyone in sight whilst another one of theirs is jumping about and around, missing heads with roundhouse kicks by mere inches, preferably hitting an innocent headbanging bystander though anyway. Excellent job, fuckfaces. This may work at hardcore shows where such behavior is expected, but not metal shows with lots of pushing and barely space for headbanging...
I like a decent pit myself, the kind no one's gonna get hurt in... if I'm in the mood to get really close with shirtless, hairy, sweaty, overweight men twice my size and weight, that is.

I blame Metallica for bringing this to the scene. They attracted the jocks to the scene and the meat head mentality of punching and pushing people from behind has become common now.

In the 90's it was the skinheads, but now it's the dudes with gelled hair, tribal tatoos, and Dillard's leather jackets you have to watch out for.
      I've seen it here plenty.

It's fun to watch idiots do that though. There's always the punks that want to go to the extreme.

Yeah, that was always fun in CT where there was a huge hardcore scene. The hardcore jocks would show up to all the metal shows and try and start shit. Some guy tried pulling that kung fu dancing at the El N' Gee (RIP) during a Napalm Death show. He got his jaw relocated rather quickly by some big biker dudes.
