i wish it was a bolt on but it going to be a set neck that why im a little more worried. i know i should take the tension off the strings but should i take the tension of the truss rod as well?

Stop by a local music store and get 2 boxes from them. They receive guitars all the time with no case. Ask them for one of those boxes, and ask for a guitar case box. Wrap the guitar in a little bubble wrap, put it inside the first box, and pad the hell out of it. Once you have the inside padded tape it up and wrap it in a layer or two of bubble wrap. Then insert that box into the guitar case box. Pad the inside of that box then tape it all up. That's what I did the one time I sent out a guitar with no case.My Toys:
