  • Help with a project

Anyone here know who would bulid a Dinky style doubleneck body with a route for a single hum and a floyd on the bottom and a string thru bridge w/piezo pickup for the top....both 6 string setups routed for dk2 and dxmg necks to be installed and a cavity for a single volume and 2 way toggle to switch between the 2 setups. I already checked w/Mojo and Denny said that they won't do doubleneck bodies due to their size.....or should I be asking if anyone here wants to build one for me......

    I want to build this

    A bolt-on DKD Dinky Doubleneck!!!!!

Ask them to make you two bodies and then cut them down to size and join them together.

yeah , especially that i doubt someone would be making a 1 piece doubleneck body - so it'd be easier to order 2 1 piece singleneck bodies and join them

only problem with that may be getting the joins looking good. particularly the blunt end of the guitar, and especially if you want the necks angled like that.

Yeah, I thought of that.... they'd have to be angled unless I put the reverse on top and the regular on bottom.

It seemed like a good idea. But what the hell do I know? I am just some guy with an internet connection.

I still think it's a great idea and easily doable! When clamping the 2 sides together, just keep "splints" on the front and back faces of the bodies so they can't move, then clamp together widthwise. It's not rocket science. There's easily enough room to cut those portions from the body at the angle desired. If you'd use used bodies, you'd probably have to fill in a portion of the electronics cavity in the top body though.

I've often thought of building a multineck guitar but that would be a waste of time for me because I don't play out. Hell, I may do it just for the hell of it sometime, I say go for it!

I know how to clamp!! lol!!
