It's a fukking sunny day and 28 degrees. It snowed here in Seattle a few days ago. It usually melts the next day. But, this is different. It's has stayed below freezing for 3 days and the snow hasn't melted. The sun comes out and melts the ice on the sunny side of the street. But, it just freezes again. I swear the ice is 1 1/2" thick. And we have hills everywhere. For a guy that has spent 52 years in the SF Bay Area, this just sucks. Why would anyone live where this happens a lot?

Um, speaking from Buffalo, as a life-long Northeasterner, I do it because I have a decent job AND no one lives here so the real estate is cheap
But, if you live in this long enough, you begin to realize a few things. When it's freezing out, you can actually bundle up and protect yourself, AND when it's freezing out it means the skies are crystal clear and the sun's out. Also, less snow when it's freezing out. When it's in the mid 30s, that's when we get snow and overcast skies. Me, I'm not a fan of dark clouds and snow. It makes me want to leave this godforsaken place. But I do like the 20 degree weather and sunny skies, by comparison. In other words, the cold freeze is better than the snow.

Creates excellent ice fishing opportunities. Also, you can track game in the snow better.
Don't forget about sledding for the kids!
As the people in your local Fish Market would say, "Choose Your Attitude!"
It does make it tuff changing the oil in the truck though when you have to lay on a sheet of ice!

Right now, it's a balmy 6 degrees here on the eastern plains of Colorado. It may be one week from today before we get above freezing.
The worse part is that my old lady makes me smoke outside.

Yeah, but aren't you like 5000 feet up? I have my front door open so I can air my joint out and get rid of the smoke.. I am sitting right next to a very nice and small wood burning stove. But, I won't use it. I think wood burning is just a polluting waste of money. And if I started it up, my guitars would probably gravitate to it.Last edited by fett; 01-12-2007, 03:53 PM.I am a true ass set to this board.

Fett,
Come on down to Houston. It's 80F here today. Going to take out the Nitro R/C cars and do some bashing
Although, we are supposed to have the artic chill here with a high temp of 42F by Monday. That is Global Freeze Out for Houston!
P.S. Don't build a fire with the guitars:ROTF:Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

It's supposed to be 38F tonight and 29F tomorrow night.
Only getting up to 50F today.
So much for the AZ sun... it's hiding behind some cold ass clouds right now.
Gotta love this place though... Monday it was 78F. :ROTF:

What's funny around here is to watch clowns try to drive up or down a local hilly street. I know there are nasty accidents and that's bad. But, the low speed slip and slides are a hoot.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:I am a true ass set to this board.

I LOVE IT!! I've grown up in Minnesota all my life and I guess its just something I have gotten used to. I've played hockey and lived here for so long that I like being in the cold better than the warm temperatures.
Its just something you gotta get used to. I think it would be cool to move up to Alaska and play hockey outside like they do up there.
Its also part of the reason I bought a house on a lake. One of my lifelong goals was to be able to skate from one end of a lake to another when it is frozen. I think it would be a lot of fun.Light intervened, annihliating darkness.
