  • Ground shipping Canada -> Europe, any experiences? thoughts, advices?

I'm about to buy a guitar from a JCFer who is from Canada and would like to know if anybody got a guitar (or something similar) sent this way. On the Canada post website it says 4-6 weeks, how true is this? How safe it is? Unfortunately, this method of shipping cannot be tracked with a tracking code.
Shipping by air costs too much ....unless he sends the guitar in the cardboard box, with no case.

    Any comments appreciated .

I had a guitar sent to me in Japan from Canada.

The shipper used Xpresspost International, which was trackable and took 7 days.

Unless the guitar that you're buying is oversized or extremely heavy,
it should probably not cost you more than $200 Canadian...

Of course, I don't know how much is too much money for you.

Sadly, Xpresspost (or EMS) is not available for Slovenia from Canada . Don't know why though...

About 200$ Canadian is my max too and that is the cost of shipping the guitar in cardboard box. It's the dimensions of the case (it's a RR ) that bump up the price....add 1cm too the height of the package and there you go.. +15$ Canadian . Lenght and the weight of the package are not that important, but the height and width really are. That's when using Canada post. DHL, FedEx and similar are way too expensive.
