    Supply & demand, dude. That article doesn't mention it, but I wonder how much the push for ethanol in North America has affected the situation.

        Not just ethanol, corn starch, corn sugar, animal feed, etc... Corn is one of a few turnkey crops that has numerous industries that require/demand high volume...
