  • Some PICS from my vacation

I was out in California for the NAMM show. That said, the real reason I wanted to go in the first place is that I wanted to poke around along the coast. We were renting bikes. I wanted RacerX to give us the tour, but the 'Busa is out of service at the moment. So much for Jap bikes being reliable.:ROTF: We rented a couple bikes from "Route 66 Riders" in Marina Del Rey, right next to Bartel's H-D. If you are in the area and want a bike for a day or 2, give them a call. Chico and E-man are cool dudes.

    Now for the pics.
These were taken at the beach right near Marina Del Rey.

    Yeah, I'm cool with my 80's leather.:ROTF:

Taken after cruising the Sunset Strip.

Some from the trip up the PCH.

    The bikes.

Nice pics. Makes me want to check out the West Coast for myself. I was there once when I was 4 when my family took a trip out to Disneyland, but needless to say I don't remember it.

Great pics, Scott. Thanks for sharing them! How did that bike compare to your new one?

That thing was a battle barge.:ROTF: I think it was a "Deluxe" or something. It handled really clumsy like. Great for just cruising, but on that tight mountain road it was a lot of work. A LOT of work.

Now, my Night Train don't handle like a sport bike either, but in my hands it feels a lot nicer than this beast I was on.

Cool pics Scott. I lived in Orange County for 11 years. Awesome place. Used to cruise PCH all the way to San Diego. Good memories!

PCH was great and scenic riding. By "tight mountain road" I was referring to this "route 23" that the guys at the rental place told us about. Really tight hairpins and blind curves all the way. Beautiful, but very tedious on that bike.

West coast is the great. I live 2.5 miles from PISMO BEACH DUNES and ride my buggy all the time.. I see the beach everyday. I just take it for granted. I need to see the EAST coast.

Sounds like dude is a "technical" rider; similar to someone suggesting a guitarist of any skill level learn Dream Theater or Vai tracks.

Having been born in San Diego and lived on the Cal coast for 52 years. And been up and down the coast a few times, I can tell you it's great. This is the time of year to see Cal. The best roadtrip I even took was in Dec. If you come out here in the summer, all you get is fog. It just cracked me up when all the tourists would be here in June and walk across the the Golden Gate Bridge. The fog would be so dense you couldn't see a thing.:ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:
