  • Stop or I'll shoot you with my slingshot

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16763344/ :ROTF:

Can you imagine the shit a cop would take if he walked up to a criminal carrying a holstered slingshot?

you know, when you have a cesspool like that, sometimes you have to drain the pond.

it was about time. the corruption in Mexico is legendary and unstoppable despite this apparent effort.

Don't underestimate the power of a slingshot. With a ball bearing, those things are lethal!

I find this part of the article amusing.

About 100 police demonstrated outside Tijuana town hall on Monday demanding the return of their guns. “The arms are our tools for work,” said officer Juan Manuel Nieves. “Do they want more police to be killed?”

More than 300 people were slain in Tijuana last year including 13 police officers.
Yea, more than 300 people were slain,,,, but I bet the cops themselves killed most of them because they wouldn't pay up. They're all so corrupt it's crazy.

I once got stopped in Nuevo Laredo ( while following some friends that took us all the wrong way down a one way street ) and I told the guy with me that if they asked us to get out of the truck I was gonna make a run for it. I had the truck in drive and was ready to slam on the gas. I also told my friend that if need be I'll mow down anything in the way and jump the truck into the river if that's what I have to do to get back across. I was NOT going to jail in Mexico. Luckily, the cops were cool because we all agreed that the people leading the convoy were idiots ( and HIGH, which we didn't know at the time ).

True, but the guy with the Glock 17 is gonna get his rounds off a lot faster than the guy with the slingshot!

Heck, $20 can usually settle up most "traffic situations" in Tiajuana!

The Federales are usually the problem more than the local cops, that's the funny thing about this whole story. Maybe if they got paid more than $100 a month, they wouldn't be tempted by the dark side!
Crime doesn't pay. Neither does lutherie...

you know it. I'd have been planning the same thing. you get taken in there, and you might never be heard from again.

in fact, I plan never to even go to Mexico in the first place. I have never been there and have zero desire to go. they can keep that hellhole.

It's funny, my sister got me a slingshot as one of my Christmas presents - in 2005! I mean. I like it, but hell, I was 47 at the time!

Her neighbor does have a yappy little dog that barks all night though... DAMN! I KNEW I was missing something!

I've stormed into T.J. plenty of times and nothing happened. And something happened once but it's too long to rap about. It was a stupid but ballsy move on my part and I got nailed, but i got extremely lucky and was let go at the end of a long day.

Aha, so you don't advise I follow a mate of mine in buying up some land, building a couple of houses on it and then flogging it for an obscene profit? It's a long way from home, and I get the impression Mexican law is made up on the spot!
So I woke up,rolled over and who was lying next to me? Only Bonnie Langford!

A foreign national CAN'T buy land in Mexico without a Mexican citizen as his "partner". So your "partner" can bend you over since he controls the property. To be fair though, if they DIDN'T have that law there'd be more Americans in Mexico than vice versa, buying up all the property.
