I don't understand Michael. Why is it immoral? I don't get it.

And that's how the system works now anyway.

You don't think someone who has no healthcare is financing health care for the rest? Really? We pay taxes, don't we? We're financing both Ted Kennedy's health care and John McCain's health care and George Bush's health care. Is Bush immoral?

I simply don't understand his argument.

Also, as for setting fees, doctors should earn a salary commesurate to their abilities. Then you don't have a fee structure at all for procedures. When you have a human body in front of you, there should be no profit incentive, such as, "What if Is tick this plug up your butt, does that mean I make more money?" It's ludicrous. pay doctors handsomely, let them decide the proper courses for treatment, and be done with it.

The is an inherent problem here. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars just to become a doctor. Then it costs the doctor tens of thousands of dollars to practice. And this goes for all the nurses and others in healthcare. If there was one thing the Federal Goverment should do is make sure that everyone should have basic healtcare. I think that anyone that wants to be a doctor, etc, should get an almost "Free" education. And then get paid a good wage that would want them to stay. This whole system just sucks. Here's an example. When I lived in Marin County a few years back, a doctor at Kaiser earned, on average, $145,000/year. That sounds like a lot. But, how much did that Doc owe in loans for the education? Here's the kicker. This average doctor could not afford the crackerbox house I lived in. I think that anyone who chooses to work for the common weal should get it "Free". Because, whether it is a firefighter; teacher; doctor; nurse; EMT or whatever, these are the people that either make us or break us.
I am a true ass set to this board.

No way. I respect people who do those jobs because they do it despite the low pay. I don't want to be treated by some asshole who was just in it for the free education and knows that if he toughs it out long enough he'll be making bucks. You're opening a whole 'nother can of worms there.
