QR kicked ass up to and including Empire. I saw them do Mind Crime live.

It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Even the band laughs at themselves BEFORE Mindcrime! You guys scare me...! They were all dolled up ala early Crue...so its not their best
imo.. I love them from Mindcrime to Empire, and then silence.... :-)

I dug everything up to and including Empire. The early stuff was cool.

I love Empire and Mindcrime the most, essential prog metal albums. The very early stuff was very plain and cheesy heavy metal IMO.

The music was great, no matter what they looked like.

Saw them open for Kiss in '84 they were incredible.

Unfortunately no one else thought so, and they were boo'd off the stage, go figure.

Prophecy was recorded in 1986 during the Rage for Order sessions, but was not included on the RFO album.

Definitely one of their best songs.

Saw them on thier first tour, opening for Dio in San Jose. Pretty good show, but they were really stiff (loved the gold chain link drumset!). One thing to remember - they had never played live until AFTER the release of the EP! Strange way to go about things, but to each their own! I have seen them since (about 10 years ago in Long Beach) - awesome show, a LOT of progression in showmanship (although Geoff Tate doing layups on a basketball hoop was...ghey).

Still hanging on to the original pressing of the vinyl EP that was on 206 Records - figure it has to be worth something now!

Now that was a good 80's band. Sorry for anyone who liked that Glam stuff but THAT was 80's metal. Them and Maiden, Priest, Savatage you get it
I saw them in concert when the Queen of the Ryche EP was the only recording they had done. I wasn't there for them, though; Quiet Riot was the headliner and the openers were Queensryche and Axe.

This was at the Austin City Coliseum, basically a glorified barn and the acoustics were horrible.

Saw them on Rage for Order (opening for AC/DC), Empire, Promised Land, and Hear in the Now Frontier. They are one of my favorites.

That RATT EP kicks A$$ also. I guess when a band does an EP before they make it big, there is just so much energy when they record it. I have a few EP's from bands that made it big afterwards and usually they are great albums.

They were actually pretty good live, also. I made the mistake of standing right in front of the bassist's main cabinet. Every time he hit a note, I felt it right in the chest.

+1 Nothing much left to add

I will say my Jackson Fusion Professional nails the tone with the J50 pickup. I think on Seymor Duncan's website they mention the boys prefer PAF style pickups.

On the EP front, I'll add Armored Saint put out a very good one in those years as well, but that's another thread.
